Tom thats wrong. Kindergarten = reception 1st grade = Year 1 2nd grade = Year 2

in ireland you go to primary school, from junior infants up to 6th class, then, when you're around 13 you go to secondary school where it's first year. you do your junior cert in 3rd year and you do transition year where you do work experience, then in 5th year you do your leaving cert, then you can do whatever you want!
