I wasn't really sure where to put this, so...
but, er, I live in the US, so this will probably sound really stupid, but ...
The whole "Year 1" and "Year 8" etc.. ... what does it mean? Is it like another way to say a grade level? Or is it different...? I'm confused about it... xD;

In the US you have grades in the UK we have Year 1, Year 2 etc. But, of course iiPod must not have known that.

yeah year 1 means grade 1 and so on. But we dont have middle school as well.

yeah but we call it primary and high school/secondary.
You can go on to college and university as well. Which i think you do it in America
