Woo! At states I was stuck in a College Book Store for an hour... and I wound up buying this little book called Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. I was reading it for a while, and was intoxicated by it. It's about these two boys, the narrator (don't know his name, yet) and his friend Leo, who are living in Communist China and go to this village on Pheonix Mountain to be Re-educated. There, they encounter lots of adventures, and tell stories and stuff, until they find a friend who has a stash of western classics in Chinese translation, which at the time was currently illegal. I'm still working on it, but it's a great book. If you see it, I reccomend picking it up

Never heard of it =o what's it about? It's not that well known. Basically, it's about a girl who woke up one morning to find that her parents and brother had vanished without a race. The story picks up with her as an adult as she tries to work out what happened.
